Asbestos British activist cycle 1200 miles to raise awareness mesothelioma

Brit Jason Addy, an activist with the group Save Spodden Valley, is preparing for a 1200 bike ride from Glasgow to Southampton to publicize the terrible effects of asbestos exposure in victims of mesothelioma. His epic bike ride is scheduled to begin on June 20, 2009.
Over five years, except Spodden Valley has fought plans to build houses and a nursery on the site contaminated with asbestos from a former factory. In addition to raising awareness about the dangers of asbestos, Addy intends to raise funds for research for a cure for cancer related to asbestos. Another objective of the trip is to support a campaign to establish a national center for asbestos-related diseases in the United Kingdom. Asbestos-related disease remains the # 1 cause of work-related deaths in Britain in 2009.
